Through Nathan’s obedience, the mercy of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 was extended to Dawid, though judgment still followed. Before Yarob’am’s rise, AkiYAHU met him in the field and tore his new garment into twelve pieces, symbolizing the division of the kingdom and giving ten tribes to Yarob’am. Later, when Yarob’am’s son fell sick, his wife came disguised to inquire of AkiYAHU, who, though blind, recognized her by revelation. He pronounced judgment upon Yarob’am’s house for turning Yashar’al to idolatry, declaring that disaster would come upon his lineage. AkiYAHU’s prophetic acts revealed the sovereignty of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 over kings and nations and the certainty of His word even when it brought destruction for disobedience.

When Rehoboam prepared to go to war against the northern tribes after their rebellion, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 sent ShamaYAHU to deliver a command of restraint: that the division of the kingdom was ordained by the Most High Himself. His obedience and fearless proclamation of the divine word prevented civil war and preserved the remnant of Yahudah. Another ShamaYAHU later appears in the time of YarmiYAHU (Jeremiah), rebuked for falsely prophesying among the exiles. Both accounts reveal the weight of true and false prophecy and the necessity of obedience to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄’s voice through those truly heard by Him.
