EARLY JUDGES & MALAKIM

In the days following the conquest, 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YaHU’aH) raised early judges and Malakim (messengers) to govern Yashar’al in righteousness and restore the covenant within the land. Yahusha (Joshua), DabarYAHU (Deborah), Gid’on (Gideon), and Shamshon (Samson) were chosen to deliver the people from oppression and remind them of YaHU’aH’s authority. Through their obedience, justice was reestablished, and through their failures, the nation learned the cost of rebellion. This period stands as a living testimony that victory and peace come only through steadfast loyalty to the covenant and the enduring Word of YaHU’aH.

𐀃𐀁𐀓𐀉𐀄𐀅 (DabarYAHU / Deborah) – Meaning: 'Word of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YaHU’aH)'

“And DabarYAHU (Deborah), a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Yashar’al at that time.” — Judges 4:4

Who is DabarYAHU?

Tribe: Ephrayim (dwelling between Ramah and Beyth-Al)

Summary: 𐀃𐀁𐀓𐀉𐀄𐀅 (DabarYAHU) was a prophetess and judge raised up by 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YaHU’aH) to lead Yashar’al during a time of great oppression under Yabin king of Kanaan. She dwelt under the Palm of DabarYAHU, where the children of Yashar’al came to her for right-ruling. Through the command of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄, she summoned Barak son of Abinoam to gather ten thousand men from Naphtali and Zebulun to wage battle against Sisera, the commander of Yabin’s army. Though Barak hesitated without her presence, DabarYAHU’s courage and obedience inspired victory, for 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 delivered Sisera into the hand of a woman—Yael—who struck him down. DabarYAHU then led Yashar’al in a song of deliverance, exalting the power of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 over the mighty and praising the willing hearts of the people who stood for truth.

π€”π€Œπ€”π€ (Shamshun / Samson) – Meaning: “Sunlike” or “Of the Sun”

“And the child grew, and 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YaHU’aH) blessed him. And the Breath of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 began to move him at times in the camp of Dan.” — Judges 13:24–25

Who is Shamshun?

Tribe: Dan

Summary:
π€”π€Œπ€”π€ (Shamshun), born to Manoah and his barren wife, was chosen before birth to begin delivering Yashar’al from the hand of the Philistines. Consecrated as a Nazirite, no razor was to touch his head, for his strength was a sign of his covenant with 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YaHU’aH). His feats of might—slaying a lion with his bare hands, striking down a thousand men with a jawbone, and carrying Gaza’s gates—testified to divine empowerment. Yet his downfall came through compromise with Delilah, which led to his captivity and blindness. In his final act, he called upon 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 and brought down the temple of Dagon, destroying his enemies and sealing his redemption through sacrifice.

Key Works and Acts:

𐀂𐀃𐀉𐀍 (Gid’on / Gideon) – Meaning: “Hewer” or “One Who Cuts Down”

“And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YaHU’aH) said to him, Surely I will be with you, and you shall strike the Midianites as one man.” — Judges 6:16

Who is Gid’on?

Tribe: Manashah

Summary:
𐀂𐀃𐀉𐀍 (Gid’on), known as Gideon, was raised up by 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YaHU’aH) during the oppression of Midian to deliver Yashar’al through humble obedience rather than military might. Coming from the least of the clans in Manashah, his calling proved that deliverance belongs to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 alone. Through signs like the fleece of dew and the reduction of his army to three hundred men, 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 revealed His strength perfected in weakness. Gid’on’s obedience brought peace to the land for forty years. Yet his later making of an ephod became a snare to the people, reminding that even deliverers must guard their hearts from turning aside.

Key Works and Acts:

π€”π€Œπ€…π€„π€‹ (Samu’AL / Samuel) – Meaning: ‘Heard of YaHU’aH’

“And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YaHU’aH) came and stood, and called as at other times, Samu’AL, Samu’AL. Then Samu’AL answered, Speak; for Your servant hears.” — 1 Samuel 3:10

Raised in the house of AlYahu (Eli the priest), Samu’AL ministered before 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 as a young boy, wearing a linen ephod. When the word of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 was rare in those days, YaHU’aH called Samu’AL by name during the night, marking him as a prophet. He faithfully delivered messages of judgment against Eli’s corrupt house and later served as the final judge of Yashar’al. Samu’AL anointed Sha’ul as the first king and later Dawid, establishing the prophetic order that guided the monarchy. His life bridged the era of judges and kings, symbolizing obedience to the voice of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 and steadfast leadership grounded in amat (truth).

“And when Dawid arose, Gad the prophet came to him and said, thus says 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YaHU’aH), Choose you either three years of famine, or three months to be destroyed before your foes, or three days the sword of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄. o 1 Chronicles 21:11–12

He is first mentioned as coming to Dawid when he fled from Sha’ul, warning him to return to the land of Yahudah. Later, Gad delivered messages of correction and instruction directly from 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YaHU’aH), including the command to build an altar on the threshing floor of Ornan the Yabusite after Dawid’s census brought divine judgment upon Yashar’al. His steadfast obedience as Dawid’s seer established the prophetic standard of accountability to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄, showing that even kings are subject to the word of the AL’mighty. Gad’s writings and records concerning Dawid’s reign were preserved among the chronicles of the prophets.

Abdon’s time as judge was marked by peace and prosperity, symbolized by his sons and grandsons riding on seventy donkeys, representing stability and order among the people. Though not much is recorded of his deeds, his life represented righteous leadership and the preservation of tribal harmony during a transitional period in Yashar’al’s history.
