The True Order of the Day — A Full Study on Yahusha, the Night Watch

Foundational Revelation and Calling

so too was I awakened from the lies of this world in a dream that rocked my world. Through this revelation, the truth of the name Yahusha, the true Son, was revealed to me, giving me the charge to speak the truth of Him from the beginning.
This does not place me on a pedestal; it simply confirms that He chooses whom He wills and we cannot choose Him without Him selecting us first—a truth proven all throughout the sacred scrolls that all esteem and honor is rendered to Him alone—thoroughly absent of all wisdom of man. It is from this foundation of divine selection and revelation that we now turn to the very beginning, not to the traditions of men or the customs passed down from religion, but to what is actually written.

Understanding the Light of Creation

When creation was first spoken into existence, the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep (Genesis 1:2). That’s the first recorded state — not light, not time, not a calendar. Just darkness.

Then the first act — the first spoken Word — “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3). That light was not the sun, for the sun and the moon were not created until the fourth day (Genesis 1:14–19). So the light that was spoken on day one was not from the sky, not from orbit, not from the sun. It was something far greater.

And here is where most people go wrong. They assume that the light in Genesis 1:3 must be sunlight, because that’s all they’ve ever known. They read or hear the word “light” and think of what they see outside at noon. But that’s not what the text says. This initial light was not natural light.

The book of Yahuchanan makes this plain.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with AL’uah, and the Word was AL’uah. The same was in the beginning with AL’uah. All things were made by Him… In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not” (John 1:1–5).

That Light is Yahusha. He was with AL’uah in the beginning. He is the Word that was spoken. He is the Light that was revealed. So when AL’uah said, “Let there be light,” it wasn’t a natural source. It was the revealing of His Son, spoken into darkness, to divide what is clean from what is empty. This same Light that shines in darkness is also commanded to be a light to the nations (Isaiah 42:6, 49:6), illuminating those who sit in inner darkness. When Yahusha spoke of men stumbling in darkness (John 11:9-10), He was not speaking of the absence of the physical sun, but of walking without Him, the true Son and Light of the world.

The Scriptural Start of the Day

And now let this be said clearly — the day does not begin with light. The day begins with evening. That is the order written in Genesis 1:5.

“And the evening and the morning were the first day.”

It does not say morning and evening. It does not say the day started at dawn. It says evening first — because evening is the start of the day — when YaHU’aH began to work or create when nothing existed but darkness. That is the circle of the day. Evening, then light.

People confuse the sequence with the meaning. They assume evening comes first in the sentence but not in the actual order. But they ignore what is written and demonstrated by YaHU’aH Himself. Evening is not just part of the cycle. It is the start of the cycle. The first day began in the evening. Darkness came first. Then light. That’s how it began, and that’s how it continues.

This is not merely a poetic phrase, but a foundational truth echoed throughout the so-called Old Testament. Indeed, the pattern of evening and morning defining each day of creation (Genesis 1:5, 8, 13, 19, 23, 31) sets this foundational truth from the very beginning. Beyond creation, the daily burnt offering commanded that one lamb be offered in the morning

and another at twilight, or 'between the two evenings' (Exodus 29:38-42, Numbers 28:3-8), with the service extending into the night, marking the close of one day and the beginning of the next. The Feast of Unleavened Bread, following Passover, also commenced in the evening (Leviticus 23:6). Furthermore, many of YaHU’aH's most profound revelations and encounters with His chosen ones occurred during the watches of the night. It was in the darkness that Jacob dreamed of the ladder to Shamayim and received divine promises (Genesis 28:10-16), and it was as the sun was going down that Abram entered into a solemn covenant with YaHU’aH, marked by a 'horror of great darkness' (Genesis 15:12-17). These instances underscore that the night is not merely an absence of light, but a time divinely appointed for beginnings, for revelation, and for the unfolding of His will.

The Abomination of Sunrise Worship

This understanding of the day's true beginning also reveals the abomination of practices that defy YaHU’aH's established order. YaHU’aH hated their sunrise worship, the worship of rebels of His house, as recorded in YahazqAL (Ezekiel 8:16–18):

“And He brought me into the inner court of the house of YaHU’aH, and behold, at the door of the temple of YaHU’aH, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men, with their backs toward the temple of YaHU’aH, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

*Then He said unto me, ‘Have you seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Yahudah that they commit the abominations which they commit here?… therefore will I also deal in fury: My eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, and though they cry in My ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.’”

This passage clearly demonstrates YaHU’aH’s wrath against those who turn their backs on His temple and His appointed times, choosing instead to worship the sun at its rising, directly contrary to the order He set from the beginning.

The Consistent Pattern of AL’uah

This is the same pattern we see when AL’uah created man. He formed the flesh first — a body made of dust. Then He breathed into him, and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7). First the frame, then the breath. First the night, then the light. He did not start with life. He started with form. Then He filled it.

That’s the same pattern. Darkness first, then Light. Flesh first, then breath. Evening first, then morning. The breath of life doesn’t come first. It comes second — to fill what was made — what was void and empty. Light needed a purpose and a way to shine. And darkness is that purpose.

Yahusha's Walk and Resurrection: Fulfilling the Pattern

Now let’s come to Yahusha. Because He walked in the same pattern. Nothing He did broke it.

The concept of the Night Watch refers to the periods of the night, traditionally divided into watches, during which vigilance and inner readiness are paramount. It is a time of waiting, petitioning, and often, significant inward activity, reflecting the beginning of the day in AL’uah's established order.

And when He rose, it was not during the night — it was as it began to dawn (Matthew 28:1). That moment of transition — not full morning, but after the night — because the day had already begun. Yahusha was crucified on the 14th day of the first month—known in Torah as the Preparation Day (Exodus 12:6), the day the Passover lambs were slain before the Feast of Unleavened Bread began.

This day, falling on what we call the fourth day (Wednesday), ended at sunset, marking the start of the 15th day, which was the first day of Unleavened Bread—a commanded feast and a High Shabbat (John 19:31). This High Shabbat was a special day of rest commanded by YaHU’aH for His annual feasts (Leviticus 23:7-8). It carried the same weight of rest and cessation from work as the weekly Shabbat.

Yahusha died around the ninth hour (3 p.m. - Matthew 27:46-50, Mark 15:34-37, Luke 23:44-46, John 19:30) and was buried hastily before the sun went down (John 19:31, 42). This urgency was because once the High Shabbat began at sunset, no work, including burial, could be done (Deuteronomy 21:23). This explains why Joseph of Arimathea had to claim and prepare the body quickly (Mark 15:42-46, Luke 23:50-53, John 19:38-42).

The next day—the High Shabbat (the 15th)—was a full day of rest, and the women did not visit the tomb. After that, the next day (the 16th) was a regular workday, and it was then that the women bought and prepared spices and ointments (Mark 16:1). But once the weekly Shabbat (the 7th day) arrived on the 17th, they rested again, as commanded in the Torah (Luke 23:56).

Yahusha remained in the grave through that entire weekly Shabbat and rose before sunset on that same Shabbat, completing three full days and three full nights in the heart of the earth, exactly as He prophesied in Matthew 12:40. By the time the women came to the tomb “before dawn” on the first day of the week, the stone had already been rolled away and the tomb was empty (Matthew 28:1–6). This timeline, perfectly aligning with the day beginning at evening, confirms that there were two Sabbaths that week—a High Shabbat and a weekly Shabbat. Any attempt to fit Yahusha’s death on Friday and resurrection on Sunday destroys the prophecy and leaves less than three days total. Only the scriptural count—death on the 14th (Preparation Day), rest on the 15th (High Shabbat), continued rest on the 17th (weekly Shabbat), and resurrection before sunset on the 17th—fits the full truth of Torah, the Feasts, and the words of Yahusha Himself.

The women didn’t go to the tomb at night. They waited until the beginning of the light, transitioning. The text plainly states it was after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn (Matthew 28:1). By the time they arrived, He had already risen, as affirmed by the empty tomb described in Matthew 28:1-6, Mark 16:2-6, Luke 24:1-3, and John 20:1). That means He rose during the early watch of the day, long after the evening had started, and before full daylight. That fulfills the pattern. Evening first, then Light.

This resurrection, rising after the darkness of the night and the grave, perfectly mirrors the first act of creation. The light YaHU’aH spoke on day one was never about the physical sunlight, but about His Son, Yahusha. Just as the divine Light was separated from the initial darkness of creation, so too was Yahusha, the true Light, separated from the darkness of death and the tomb as He rose. His resurrection is the ultimate proof that the true Light of YaHU’aH is His Son, not the sun.

So when people say the day begins at dawn, they’re ignoring Yahusha’s resurrection. He didn’t rise at the start of their so-called day. He rose before they even arrived — before the sun, but after the night had already passed.

Yom Kippur

A Confirmation of the Divine Pattern

And when YaHU’aH gave instruction for the commanded day to afflict the soul, He said, “From evening to evening, you shall celebrate your Shabbat” (Leviticus 23:32). This is the same as every Shabbat, with the exception of being able to eat. The rest is a sign of humble obedience, purging oneself from the ways of this age — from work, outside activities, and the distractions that pull us out of alignment. He wasn’t introducing a new time structure. He was confirming what He already set in place from the beginning. Evening is the beginning of the day. YaHU’aH never threw a curveball to His people, only confirmation. He doesn’t switch the pattern. He reminds you of it.

Addressing Misunderstandings and the Need for Discernment

This is where the misunderstanding always happens. People assume the light of day one is sunlight. They assume the phrase “evening and morning” is just poetic. They assume the resurrection happened at dawn. But none of that is written. And none of that matches the pattern.

The pattern is clear. The order is divine. The breath of YaHU’aH has spoken it. The wisdom of this world cannot stand against Him.

Evening first. Then Light. Flesh first. Then Breath. Death first. Then Resurrection.

If the sun were truly the light used to determine when the day begins, then YaHU’aH would not have promised: “And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for YaHU’aH AL’uah gives them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever” (Revelation 22:5). This verse powerfully confirms that the ultimate source of light is YaHU’aH Himself, not the sun, and that His light is eternal and sufficient, even in a state where physical sunlight is no longer needed.

The truth only comes by the Breath of YaHU’aH. YaHU’aH has never revealed truth to the masses, but to an elected few, commanding them to make known and guard what His reveals. Unlike today where many claim He speaks to them. This is prophecy and dangerous, just as it is written in Matthew 24, the warning. Just because Revelation 2:9 and 3:9 speak of imposters does not mean this truth is wrong or that everything they do is inherently evil.

If that were the case, then a true believer would logically have to avoid virtually every commanded practice, as many of these practices are also observed by those who claim to be something they are not. This is precisely where the discerning Breath of YaHU’aH is truly needed, to distinguish between the pure command and the corrupted practice, allowing us to operate according to His established order.

The day begins at evening. It always has. And it always will.

Let us live led by the eternal light, created in the beginning—day one.

Shalum family.

The study explains that growing opposition to End Times truth—especially on when the day begins—is not random, but a sign of rising judgment. Many claim to be awakened, yet still cling inwardly to this world, and this deception is dangerous. The study does not entertain opinions but exposes truth through plain Scripture, revealing not only the correct understanding but also why it has been resisted. The urgency to change is now.
